Having pets around young children or babies is lots of fun. The pet will take care of the child and the child will have a constant playmate around him. Additionally, seeing them together will make your heart melt. However, this is not the only reason why you should keep pets around your young children.

Pets are Healthy for Babies

The University of Alberta made a new study showing that furry pets being around newborn babies can reduce their risk of allergy development and becoming obese. This study claims that if the baby is exposed to the pet in their first few months will develop higher resistance to allergies compared to others. The reason behind this resistance is from two gut bacterias: Ruminococcus (associated with a lower risk of allergic disease) and Oscillospira (linked with leanness). Both cats and dogs carry these bacteria in their bodies and by snuggling with them or letting them lick you or the baby can boost the immune system.

Another study proved that having the animal around the house can reduce the chances of transferring Group B streptococcus bacteria from the mother to the baby.

Cute Photos of Baby Humans and Pets

Now, back to the cuteness. One photographer from Britain, Sujata Setia, was able to capture the amazing bond between newborn babies and pets. Setia got her inspiration after she decided to honor her pet’s death (Mustang, dog). She included other animals in her photos and gave other parents lasting memories that they can treasure. Her clients absolutely loved the idea of having their newborn babies photographed with their furry friends. See for yourself just how heartwarming the pictures are.
