The Australian citizen Kerry McKinnon, who lives in Western Victoria got a surprise from her golden retriever Asha. This is something that no other dog has already done.
One day, she was called by her husband to come outside and see something incredible. She then saw Asha with a baby koala on her back, and her initial reaction was to laugh out loud.
“She kept looking back at the koala but she wasn’t trying to get him off her or anything. She was happy to let him snuggle into her,” Kerry told News.com.au.
Dog Brings in a Koala in Her Home
No one knows how a baby koala got on the back of a dog, but it is assumed that he found himself separated from his mother and so perplexed he accepted the motherhood of the dog and climbed onto her back.
The koala clung firmly to the dog’s fur, where it felt nice and warm.
It is alleged that Asha saved her baby’s koala life by keeping her warm, which the poor baby probably wouldn’t have done if she had been alone all night.
Check Out by a Vet for The Baby Koala
Kerry tried to separate the two for the vet to examine the koala, but the koala made a ‘big mess’.
After being examined by a veterinarian, the baby-koala was taken by a local koala caregiver until it was certain they could bring him back to the wild where he belonged.
According to Kerry because of the dog’s protective instinct, the koala did not want to leave Ash’s beautiful and warm fur.
When people saw this story on social media, they made positive comments, and many of them even declared Asha a hero!
Here are some reactions of the users:
- “No wonder god backwards spells dog”
