Quarantine time has taken a toll on all of us. Whether we’re old or young, finding an activity to fill in our time at home has been a difficult task. Especially for people with younger children, quarantine can be extra difficult. Figuring out the perfect entertainment for the children might even be much more problematic than for us. Children can be picky and exhausting before they find their interests.

Activities for Children

Whether it’s making a treasure hunt or having a picnic in your backyard, there are tons of interesting things that you can do with your children to keep them occupied. Additionally, joining your children with some of these activities can bring you closer together.

Here are some interesting things that you can do:

– Visiting virtual aquariums or museums (VR Needed)

– Cooking and baking things together

– Filming TikToks

– Listening to Olaf reading stories on Twitter

– Playing with playdough

– Board Games (card games like Go Fish or UNO)

– Puzzles

– Charades

– Yoga or other physical activity

There are many more activities that you can do with your children, however, make sure that you give them a break once in a while to themselves. There are tons of entertaining videos on YouTube that are child friendly as well, and who knows, maybe they’ll learn something from them. Speaking of learning, make sure that even if they attend school online, the children need to keep on studying and learning more. Even if it’s reading a book, make sure that they don’t neglect their education and continue to develop their knowledge. Additionally, keep them away from cellphones since it can affect their development harshly.

IKEA Furniture Forts

IKEA Russia had an amazing idea for keeping children entertained during the lockdown. They released 6 types of furniture forts that you can build together with them. This campaign was created by an agency called Instinct. The main goal for the campaign is to give instructions on creating forts, castles, tents, and other interesting structures to help people with children during the coronavirus pandemic.

This is an amazing campaign to bring back the indoor adventures which past generations enjoyed. Many people are content with the idea and even started using the ‘blueprints’ that IKEA released. Some of them have even posted pictures of the result of their construction. These posts were made on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #явдомикеикеа which can translate to “I’m in an IKEA home”.

These instructions are pretty easy to follow; however, many people might be skeptics because they have difficulty assembling IKEA products. The instructions tell us to use items that we have around the house such as chairs, blankets, tables, and bedspreads to create a new hideaway. None of the instructions require using IKEA furniture so you can use whatever is lying around the house.
