Streaked and dirty glass on your oven might be getting on your nerves. You’ve tried cleaning up the outside of the door and the inside as well. But it still looks dirty. And believe it or not, there’s a way to get rid of this mess!

The first thing you have to do is to run to the nearest hardware store and find a screwdriver that fits the screws along the top of your oven door. To know exactly what kind of a screwdriver you need, you have to open the oven and see the screws that are used to hold it together.

Bear in mind that many ovens use star screws! Then, in order to separate the metal edge from the oven door, you have to unscrew the top screws. To do that, sometimes it could be possible that you’ll need to use a knife or a flat screwdriver.

And after you do that, you can lay the innermost glass of each half of the door on a towel or a sheet, with the inside window facing up. Now, you are able to clean the stains in between. But what’s the most efficient way to clean the panes of glass in your oven door?

Degreaser

You won’t regret if you buy a basic degreaser to clean the glass in your oven door. If you don’t want to buy a degreaser, it’s possible for you to make one on your own. It’s all about the ingredients you want to use. One way to do it, is to mix one cup of water, one table spoon dish soap and 15-20 drops orange essential oil.

Baking soda

If your oven needs to be thoroughly scrubbed, you can use a damp microfiber cloth to rub some baking soda into the dirtiest spots. Pour like ½ baking soda in a bowl and add some water slowly so as to make a paste. Once you achieve a consistency of a shaving cream, you’re good to go.

Then you can spread the mixture on the inside of your oven glass and let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes. After that, you can use a little degreaser so as to give it a quick wipe down before you are totally finished.

Glass cleaner

A glass cleaner will definitely help you get rid of the dirt on the glass in your oven door. But if decide to go with this option, then you need to make sure that you first clean the dust between the glass.

It’d be better if you do so, because that way you’ll get rid of any buildup that could cause streaks. To wipe off the glass cleaner, you can use either paper towels, or a toothbrush for the areas that are difficult to reach. However, some people use natural glass cleaner, like lemon juice or distilled white vinegar.

Wire hanger

Using a wire hanger to clean the oven glass, sounds a bit strange. But you’ll find it very useful if your oven door doesn’t pop open between the panes of the glass. That’s why you should consider this an option.
