Very common symptoms of infection include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea, and constant fatigue. The infection by E. coli can occur even if you swallow a small amount of it.

Clostridium Difficile Can Be Life Threatening
According to a study conducted in Houston, Texas, your shoes carry a harmful bacterium called Clostridium difficile (C difficile). This bacterium is known for causing life-threatening inflammation of the colon. This study eliminates the meaning that it’s usually caught in healthcare settings. Results showed that only 448 of 2538 samples, came from the hospitals.
The majority of others bacterium caught on shoes from parks, fast food restaurants, chain stores, and commercial stores. Additionally, the experts found traces of this bacteria in people’s homes, which are transferred via their shoes. They concluded that on average, 25% of people’s shoes carry this bacterium.
Signs and Symptoms of C. Difficile
Almost a half million of people in the United States get sick from C. difficile, and these numbers have been increased in recent years. According to medical statistics, this infection is becoming more difficult to treat. People infected with C. difficile have symptoms of fever and get dehydrated, get blood or pus in the stool, rapid heart rate, swollen abdomen, and others symptoms.
In case you have three or more watery stools a day and those symptoms lasting more than two days it is necessary to see your doctor.

The simple way of avoiding to carry these bacteria into your home is by removing your shoes before you enter your main living area. Be sure that the wiping them on a mat instead, don’t eliminate bacteria, but just a visible dirt. Wiping adds more bacteria to your mat or potentially pick up more dirt for your shoes to carry.
