Living in a fairytale might not be so impossible if you consider moving to Europe. The village Giethoorn, also known as “Venice of the Netherlands”, is a very magical place that was founded in 1230. Many people dream of living in a place like this, especially for its clean air and amazing view.

The village contains no roads, which means that there is no modern transportation around it. People that visit the village have to leave the cars outside of it and walk there. The only means of transportation that you can have in the village are walking, biking, or taking a boat. Giethoorn is filled with canals and they create amazing views that give the village the fairytale-look. Throughout the village, you can also find more than 170 bridges. The boats in the village are known as ‘whisper boats’ because they use engines that are noiseless. This makes the village not only beautiful and clean but also very peaceful (aside from all the tourists).

On the village’s website, you can read that the loudest sound that can be heard in the village is the quacking of the ducks or songs from other birds. This amazing village is located in the east of the Netherlands in the province of Overijssel. The best way to explore the village is by taking the canal cruise. However, if you want, you can also walk on the footpaths located on the sides of the canals which are ideal for cycling or walking. There’s a variety of cafes and restaurants that you can go to when visiting this place.

Make sure you add it to the list of places that you must visit because it’s just amazing once you get there!
